Savina Dellicour

Savina entered Belgium?s premier film school, Institut des Arts de Diffusion, Louvain-la-Neuve, straight from high school in 1994, and graduated in ?98 with distinction. Her graduation film, On/Off, won the Grand Jury Prize at the Brussels Festival of Independent Films ?98, and Savina was invited to be a member of the jury the following year. After graduating and before moving to England to study at the National Film & Television School, Savina worked for various television production companies in Brussels as a first assistant director. At the NFTS, Savina directed several short films and her graduation film Ready, starring Imelda Staunton, was one of five films nominated in the Honorary Foreign Film Category at the 2003 Student ACADEMY AWARDS in Los Angeles. Ready was shortlisted for the Turner Classic Movies short film competition at the London Film Festival 2002 and has screened at several other international film festivals. Since graduating, Savina has directed 10 episodes of the TV series Hollyoaks on Channel Four, and she was selected along with 4 other directors to make a short film through the UK Film Council?s and Film Four?s Premiere short film scheme ?Cinema Extreme?. The resulting short film, Strange Little Girls, was premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in August 04 and is currently being shown at various International Film Festivals. Savina is now developing two feature-length films.
