Elaine studied English literature in Trinity College Dublin. She went on to combine a background in poetry, linguistic theory and narrative development with her interest in photography, design and visual media, by completing a Masters in Multimedia, specialising in interactive narrative. She continues to divide her time between writing poetry, short stories and screenplays and working in the multimedia and publishing industries, as a freelance graphic designer, editor, and tutor. She has published numerous short stories and was an editor of the only Irish publication dedicated solely to short stories, Whispers & Shouts. She has written a number of fiction and animated shorts, and her first feature script is being developed with support of MEDIA slate funding. She is currently working on a collection of poetry and writing her second feature screenplay.
