Kirsikka Saari (b. 1973) lives in Helsinki, Finland, and works as a scriptwriter and a journalist. She has studied scriptwriting since 2003 (aRTO, Adulta's Radio and TV Institute, YLE's Drama Academy and Merlin Workshop). She has a MA in History from the University of Helsinki, and she has studied also in Russia and Spain. Her script for a short film "Tyttöjen ilta" (Girls' night out, 28 minutes) was chosen into a production in a script competition organised by Finnish Film Foundation and Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE), the premiere will be in February 2008. Currently she's working on a tv drama and a feature film.
