Eva Keuris
Script Writer

Eva was born in Hilversum,  the Netherlands, on the 22nd of December, 1978. She started doing Filmstudies at the University of Amsterdam, but quickly grew so bored with the academic programme, that quitting and taking a job at a supermarket in her hometown, seemed a more appealing option.
Because her job wasn’t very demanding, she had plenty of time to think of what to do next and soon realized that all she had ever wanted, all she had ever truly enjoyed, was writing. So she applied for the four year dramatic writing programme at the Utrecht School of the Arts and was selected.

During her studies there, she got a job at ScriptStudio, a company that provides scripts for soaps.  She graduated as a Bachelor in Writing for Performance in 2005 and soon after, quit her job at ScriptStudio to become a freelance tv-  and theater writer.

With her play Addergebroed she won the jury award for best play at the Hollandse Nieuwe Festival in Amsterdam, a festival for new dutch playwrights. Other plays were performed in small theaters in the Netherlands, as well as in Australia. She wrote an audioplay that was broadcast on Slovakian radio in 2005.
Eva has been selected for several international workshops, like Interplay (Athens, 2004), Berlinale Talentcampus (Berlin, 2007) and Scene Insiders (Edinburgh, 2007). In April, she will start a two year, parttime Master Screenwriting course at Royal Holloway University, London.
Recently, Eva decided to focus fulltime on screenwriting, as film is (with literature) her greatest artisctic passion.
