Nicola Mills
Writer/Director

Nicola joined the National film and Television School in 2004, in the second year winning the prestigious Golden Dinosaur at the Etuida and Anima Student Film Festival, Cracow, with her short, A Touch of Sadness. Her graduation film was The Toughest Girl in the World, which has been screened at various festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, as well as travelling the world with Future shorts.

She has just finished shooting The Other Me, a surreal black comedy, written by Mark Cowling and the winner of the British Short Screenplay Competition 2005, which is now in post-production.

Nicola developed her first feature script , ‘Digging for Marni’ on the Binger Film Lab Script Development Programme in Amsterdam from September 2007 to February 2008; a surreal comedy about a woman who has to travel to India to rescue her errant sister from burying herself alive in the name of world peace.

She is now working developing ‘Greengrass’, second prize winner in the Euroscript 2007 Screen Story Competition, and another feature length screenplay; a blackly comic tale of a teenage girl who comes to the conclusion that she needs a new family, but the only way to accomplish this is to get rid of her own.
