After the successful examination in law school on media affairs and copyright, Katja Siegel applied at the renowned German film school Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg for the studies in film and TV production in 1999, where she graduated in 2003. After an internship at the European film funding body Eurimages at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, she was assigned as production assistant to the Development and Acquisition department of Maxmedia (The Others, Skyblue) in Los Angeles, USA, until early 2004.
In spring 2004 she was producing and line producing the international rewarded feature film Requiem by renowned German director Hans Christian Schmid. In May 2005 Katja Siegel joined Reverse Angle as a producer and realised together with Peter Schwartzkopff the production of the international debut feature film The House is burning by Holger Ernst. The following project, Pool of Princesses by Bettina Blümner, won the “Dialogue en perspective” at the Berlin Film Festival.

In 2002 Peter Schwartzkopff and the world-renowned director Wim Wenders founded Reverse Angle Production, based in Hamburg. The company focus is on the development and production of feature films for the German and international market. The first project of Reverse Angle Production was the movie Don’t Come Knocking by Wim Wenders, shot in summer 2004 in the USA. Today, beside the Reverse Angle Production, there are five other independent businesses, responsible for film production, sales and film rights. One of these is Hamburg-based Reverse Angle International, founded in 2003. Reverse Angle International focuses on international co-productions. This branch of the company produced seven documentaries about Blues by renowned directors, in co-production with the US company Vulcan Productions: Feel like Going Home by Martin Scorsese, The Soul of a Man by Wim Wenders, The Road to Memphis by Richard Pearce, Warming by the Devils Fire by Charles Burnett, Godfathers and Sons by Marc Levin, Red, White and Blues by Mike Figgis, and Piano Blues by Clint Eastwood. Reverse Angle International is also the co-production company of Land of Plenty by Wim Wenders.
